This is a fast and helpful read for anyone who writes book reviews. I read this in one sitting and couldn’t believe how fast I finished this brief, but concise book.
The concepts in the book are not meant to be absorbed at once but are for use as a reference when preparing to write a review. As I read, I highlighted and bookmarked pages I can go back and read more closely and consider the ideas Graf presents. The author provides great tips supported by detailed examples of what you should and shouldn’t do when writing a book review. I especially liked how the Graf demonstrates ways you can be honest to readers while providing constructive feedback to the authors.
There is one particularly helpful chapter that recommends reviewers create a template of the components you plan to discuss after reading the book. Graf even provides a simple, straightforward template to use as a model.
I really think this is a must read for anyone who shares a review of a book. Even if you don’t write book reviews but enjoy reading, this book can help you in identifying and following reviewers who write fair and balanced reviews.
Note: I purchased this book on Amazon without expecting to write a review; however, the book was so informative, I really wanted to share its merits with fellow book bloggers and readers.
