Take a Moment to Check Out These Three New Releases!

I’m excited to share with you details about the release of three new novels that are on my reading list. If you follow my blog, you know I’m an eclectic reader, so the books spotlighted today range from the YA to adult romance. If you’re looking for a new series to start, perhaps one of these novels will catch your interest.  Happy Release Day to all of these authors!

Night Sky (Night Sky # 1) by Suzanne Brockmann & Melanie Brockmann

I have enjoyed every Suzanne Brockmann novel I’ve read, and now she has a new YA series that she and her daughter have co-written.  Based on the series prequel I read, I think Night Sky is going to do very well. Read my review for Dangerous Destiny that introduces the series here: Sunday Series Spotlight: Night Sky

New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Suzanne Brockmann and her daughter Melanie Brockmann have written a pulse-pounding novel of paranormal suspense set in a near future both fantastic and frightening. “Original and exciting, NIGHT SKY propels readers into a dangerous future. Loved it.” —Melissa Marr, New York Times bestselling author of Made For You and the Wicked Lovely series

Skylar Reid is shaken when Sasha, the little girl she babysits, is kidnapped. Scared that the weird dreams she’s been having about Sasha are real—and even more afraid that Sasha is already dead. When a mysterious girl with extreme butt-kicking abilities roars into town on a motorcycle and, well, stalks Skylar things get even weirder. Supergirl Dana tells Sky that she also has abilities – that a hormone in their blood makes them stronger, faster, smarter. A hormone that the makers of a new drug called Destiny will murder to get their hands on.

Dana and Milo, her dangerously hot yet oh-so-forbidden partner in crime, want Sky to join them in their mission – to mold Sky into the ultimate weapon. She can sense there’s something about her abilities they’re not telling her. But the only way to save Sasha and stop other girls from being taken is to embrace the weird…and fight Destiny.

Immortal (Fallen Angels # 6) by J.R. Ward

I have followed this series from the beginning (the books need to be read in order) and since I finished reading Possession last fall I have been anxiously waiting for the release of Immortal.  I’m excited the book is  now available but am also a bit sad that this will be the last novel in the series.  Compared to the third and fourth books, Possession moved the plot along at an intense and suspenseful pace, and I expect this final installment will as well.  This series centers around the classic good vs. evil plot, with Heaven against Hell in a war led by the protagonist, Jim Heron, the one man that both Heaven and Hell each think can be turned to their side. Jim’s obsession with Sissy, which is one of the best subplots in the series, has thrown off his focus and the odds are no longer in his favor. He has one heck of an uphill battle ahead and his decisions will have everlasting consequences on humankind and their eternal afterlife. This is a must read for me!

Release Date: October 7, 2014 / 544 pgs.

Genre: Paranormal Fiction, Fantasy Romance

From J.R. Ward, the #1 New York Times bestselling author who has kept readers on the edge of their seats with her phenomenal Fallen Angels novels, comes one of the most heart-stirring and eagerly anticipated events in that acclaimed series.

This is a world where sin and salvation collide. This is a world where a cynical fallen angel struggles with the seven deadly sins and seven chosen souls. With the spellbinding Immortal, the riveting series that “changed the face of paranormal romance” (Suit101.com) comes to an epic close as mankind’s reluctant savior struggles with his greatest challenge yet..

Over the Line (Alpha Ops # 1) by Emmy Curtis

I did a Sunday Series Spotlight for the Alpha Ops series in August when Curtis released Dangerous Territory, a novella that introduces readers to the series. Now Curtis has released the first full-length romantic suspense novel and I’m looking forward to reading it as well.

Beth, thinking she’s going rock climbing for the weekend, is surprised when she realizes the biggest rock she’ll be facing is the one James needs her to wear. And while trying to protect James’s sister, she’ll also have to lie to James’s father, the Director of the CIA, about who she is, jeopardizing her carefully planned career.
